Recruitment built from a fresh perspective.

Uneek started from a frustration with recruitment practices. Too often, it felt transactional – focused on filling roles quickly rather than understanding what teams needed. In industries like technology, engineering, and infrastructure, that approach falls short. The work is too important, and the impact of getting it wrong is too high.
The aim was to do it differently. Time is spent understanding how teams are built, how they operate, and what people are expected to deliver once they’re in the role. That means looking beyond CVs and focusing on context – how someone fits into a team, and whether they can contribute from day one. We understand that the future doesn’t build itself, and the people behind it matter.

Over time, that approach has shaped long-term partnerships with organisations building and maintaining critical systems. The future is built on connection, and the focus remains on getting the right people into the right roles, in a way that works.

Where it began

A different path.

After originally pursuing a career in football, including a scholarship period in the US, Donal moved into recruitment in 2013. What started as a completely different direction quickly became a career he genuinely enjoyed and excelled in.

After a decade building and scaling recruitment divisions across the UK and the US, Donal founded Uneek. Fully bootstrapped and debt-free from day one - a deliberate choice that shaped how the business was built and the decisions made along the way.

The first partnerships.

Starting from a desk in Reading, the first client relationships were built through trust, consistency, and a more embedded approach to recruitment. The first members of the team also joined during this period, helping shape the culture and standards the business continues to build around today.
