A leading European data centre delivery specialist is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to support the successful delivery of large-scale, mission-critical data centre projects in Finland.
This is a site-based role, reporting to the Commissioning Lead, with responsibility for managing commissioning activities across complex MEP systems while acting as a key interface between internal teams, vendors, and client stakeholders.
The Role
As Commissioning Manager, you will take ownership of the commissioning strategy and execution across major data centre projects, ensuring safe, compliant, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and supervise Commissioning Engineers on-site
- Define commissioning scopes and deliver in line with agreed strategy and programme
- Manage the overall M&E Commissioning Programme, including sequencing, milestones, and reporting
- Act as the primary point of contact for client commissioning activities
- Coordinate and manage CFCI and OFCI commissioning scopes
- Plan and manage Vendor FATs and FWTs, including attendance where required
- Facilitate and participate in detailed design reviews
- Monitor progress against commissioning milestones and proactively manage risk
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, specifications, and commissioning procedures
- Coordinate closely with QA/QC teams to meet quality objectives
- Manage commissioning documentation, test scripts, compliance statements, and final handover records
- Attend and contribute to daily and weekly commissioning meetings
- Prepare and submit commissioning progress and technical reports
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or minimum 5 years’ experience in a commissioning leadership role
- Background in data centres or other mission-critical environments
- Mechanical or Electrical bias acceptable, with strong knowledge of both disciplines
- Proven experience managing multi-contractor commissioning activities
- Strong stakeholder and client-facing communication skills
- Solid understanding of EHS requirements related to M&E commissioning
