About the Opportunity

We are supporting a leading international banking client as they continue to invest heavily in their data capabilities across Finance and Regulatory Reporting. They are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join a high-performing data team responsible for delivering accurate, scalable, and actionable insights that support key financial decision-making.

Working alongside Finance, Risk, Technology and Business stakeholders, you will transform complex datasets into meaningful reporting and analytics while helping drive improvements across data quality, governance and reporting processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyse large financial datasets to identify trends, anomalies and business opportunities.
• Develop SQL queries to extract, manipulate and validate data from multiple banking systems.
• Create dashboards and visualisations using Power BI to support Finance leadership.
• Work closely with Finance teams to improve reporting processes and automate manual activities.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to define data requirements and optimise data pipelines.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity and compliance with internal governance standards.
• Produce clear documentation including business requirements, data mappings and functional specifications.
• Support regulatory reporting initiatives and finance transformation programmes.
• Investigate data quality issues and recommend sustainable solutions.
• Engage with senior stakeholders to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.

Required Skills

• Strong commercial experience as a Data Analyst within Financial Services or Banking.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience querying large relational databases.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power BI for dashboard creation and reporting.
• Excellent experience using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis.
• Experience working with Python (Pandas, NumPy) for data manipulation.
• Understanding of ETL processes and data modelling principles.
• Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Azure or Snowflake is advantageous.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting or financial reporting environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced delivery environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with investment banking, retail banking or capital markets.
• Knowledge of Finance data domains including General Ledger, P&L or Balance Sheet reporting.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
• Exposure to data governance frameworks and metadata management.
• Understanding of data visualisation best practices.
