A leading international engineering and construction organisation is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor to support the delivery of a large-scale, mission-critical data centre project in Austria.
This is a site-based role offering the opportunity to work closely with project managers, contractors and the wider EHS function to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure full compliance with statutory and project requirements in a fast-paced construction environment.
You will support the implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health & Safety standards on site, helping to safeguard personnel, protect the environment and ensure safe, responsible project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and promote project-specific health & safety policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with statutory EHS requirements and internal standards
- Carry out regular site inspections and audits, ensuring actions are closed out
- Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations and reporting
- Deliver site inductions and support workforce engagement on EHS matters
- Review risk assessments, method statements and permits to work
- Monitor site welfare, COSHH controls and environmental protection measures
- Provide day-to-day EHS support to project management and site teams
Requirements
- Experience in an EHS Advisor role within construction or industrial environments
- NEBOSH or equivalent recognised health & safety qualification
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and site-based EHS practices
- Ability to engage effectively with contractors and project teams
- Fluent in English (Dutch or French advantageous)
- Comfortable working in a live, site-based project environment
