EHS Lead – Hyperscale Data Centre

I’m currently supporting one of Europe’s leading Data Centre contractors on the appointment of an EHS Lead for a major hyperscale project in the UK.
This is an opportunity to join a business delivering some of the largest mission-critical projects across Europe, taking ownership of Health, Safety & Environmental performance on a flagship Data Centre build.
As the EHS Lead, you’ll be responsible for driving a proactive safety culture across site, ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety & Environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
You’ll work closely with project leadership, subcontractors and the client to ensure best-in-class EHS performance while leading and mentoring the wider EHS team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead site-wide Environmental, Health & Safety activities
- Drive a positive safety culture across all project disciplines
- Manage risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work systems
- Conduct audits, inspections and safety interventions
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and project-specific HSE plans
- Lead client-facing EHS meetings and close out observations
- Deliver engaging safety briefings and awareness programmes
- Support REACH compliance and hazardous substance management
- Manage and develop the on-site EHS team
Requirements
- Significant EHS leadership experience on large-scale construction projects
- Previous experience managing EHS teams
- Strong knowledge of current HSE legislation and best practice
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification
- Data Centre experience is highly desirable
