Machine Learning Engineer – FinTech & Banking Innovation | Brussels, Belgium | Hybrid (2 Days On-Site) | 6-Month Contract + Extension
We are currently supporting one of Belgium’s leading banking and financial services organisations as they continue to scale their AI and Machine Learning capabilities across multiple enterprise programmes.
This opportunity sits within a highly respected FinTech-focused technology division delivering next-generation solutions across fraud detection, risk analytics, customer intelligence and intelligent automation.
They are now looking to engage an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to support the development, deployment and optimisation of production-grade ML systems within a large-scale cloud and data-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and deploy scalable Machine Learning solutions in production environments
- Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Software Engineering teams
- Develop and optimise ML pipelines and model deployment workflows
- Support real-time and batch ML use cases across financial and customer platforms
- Contribute to MLOps best practices, CI/CD automation and infrastructure optimisation
- Work with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets across cloud environments
- Monitor model performance, drift detection and continuous improvement processes
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise security, governance and compliance standards
Candidate Profile
- Strong commercial experience as a Machine Learning Engineer within enterprise environments
- Excellent Python development skills with strong experience across ML ecosystems
- Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn or XGBoost
- Strong experience working with Databricks, Spark and modern data processing platforms
- Experience deploying ML models within AWS, Azure or GCP environments
- Strong understanding of MLOps tooling including MLflow, Kubeflow, Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Terraform and infrastructure automation
- Knowledge of Kafka or event-driven architectures is highly beneficial
- Previous experience within banking, FinTech or regulated environments would be advantageous
- Exposure to GenAI, LLM integration or vector databases is considered a plus
Contract Details
- Initial 6-month contract with strong likelihood of extension
