A leading specialist contractor delivering some of Europe’s most complex mission-critical construction projects is seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join a high-performing commercial team in Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on major developments while taking ownership of all commercial and contractual responsibilities across your projects. Reporting to the Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in maximising project value, maintaining commercial compliance, and supporting successful project delivery.
The Role
As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day commercial and contractual aspects of major construction projects. Working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients, you’ll ensure commercial performance is maximised whilst maintaining strong relationships across all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day commercial and contractual activities throughout the project lifecycle
- Administer contracts, including change management and maintaining commercial registers
- Negotiate and secure best value when placing subcontract orders
- Support project budgeting, cost planning, and feasibility studies
- Review and approve subcontractor applications, valuations, and final accounts
- Lead pre-contract meetings to ensure scopes are clearly defined and contractual risks are mitigated
- Prepare accurate monthly Cost Value Reports (CVRs) for senior management
- Maximise project cash flow through timely submission of valuations and supporting documentation
- Negotiate and agree final accounts, including claims for loss, expense, delay, disruption, and extensions of time
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and design teams
- Ensure company commercial procedures and contractual obligations are fully implemented
- Identify commercial opportunities while managing contractual risk throughout project delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or an equivalent recognised qualification
- 3-5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects in mission-critical environments
- Strong understanding of construction contracts including NEC, RIAI and FIDIC
- Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to identify risk and opportunity
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and report-writing abilities
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
