Vice President of Sales – Grid Software (Netherlands)

About the Role
We are partnering with a global grid software provider supporting transmission and distribution system operators in the digitalisation and modernisation of electricity networks.

We are seeking a Vice President of Sales to lead the European commercial organisation, based in the Netherlands. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth across utility customers and scaling a high-performing enterprise sales function.

The role sits at the centre of the business, working closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer teams to shape go-to-market strategy and deliver growth across mission-critical software used in grid operations and energy system management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the European sales organisation for grid software solutions
  • Own and deliver regional revenue targets and commercial performance
  • Build, lead, and scale a high-performing enterprise sales team
  • Drive strategic growth across transmission and distribution utilities (TSOs/DSOs)
  • Develop and maintain senior relationships with C-level utility stakeholders
  • Oversee complex, long-cycle enterprise sales and strategic bids
  • Define and execute go-to-market strategy across Europe
  • Partner with Product and Engineering on roadmap alignment and market needs
  • Provide leadership input into pricing, positioning, and commercial strategy
  • Represent the business externally at industry and regulatory forums

Required Experience

  • Senior sales leadership experience in enterprise software or SaaS
  • Strong background selling into utilities, energy, or critical infrastructure sectors
  • Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing sales teams
  • Experience managing large, complex, multi-country sales organisations
  • Strong understanding of utility operating models and grid modernisation
  • Ability to operate at C-level with major enterprise customers
  • Track record of delivering significant revenue growth

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with grid software (e.g. ADMS, EMS, SCADA, DERMS, OMS)
  • Exposure to energy transition, smart grids, or utility digitalisation
  • Experience in PE/VC-backed or high-growth software environments
  • Knowledge of European utility markets and regulatory frameworks

Location Netherlands (hybrid), with regular travel across Europe.
